Belek Golf Trip Planner: Season, Courses, Stay-and-Play and Airport Transfers

By Itinerary of Türkiye · Published · 7 min read

Belek, on the coast east of Antalya, is the golf district GoTürkiye's Turkish Riviera golf pages centre on, and its golf calendar runs almost opposite to the beach calendar: the busy golf months are the cooler ones. This guide does not rank courses or quote prices, because both change and no official source we consulted ranks them. Instead it helps you choose a season window, pick between a single stay-and-play resort and a multi-course trip, plan the airport transfer, and draw up the questions to ask before you pay a deposit.

When is the Belek golf season?

Official and industry sources describe the season slightly differently, so it helps to read them together. GoTürkiye's Turkish Riviera golf page says Belek is known for a particularly long playing season, and its Belek page describes golf as possible for almost twelve months a year. In a September 2026 report published by Türkiye Today with AA, Ercan Cek, vice president of the Professional Hotel Managers Association (POYD), put the golf season at September to May and named the United Kingdom as the largest source market, followed by Germany and Eastern Europe.

A practical way to use that range is to think in three windows. The descriptions below are our editorial planning guidance, not measured climate data, so check a forecast for your exact dates:

  • Early autumn (September–October): the season is opening and the coast can still feel summery at midday. Early tee times keep the heat manageable, and non-golfers may still enjoy the beach.
  • Winter (roughly November–February): usually the quietest stretch, with shorter days. Ask about the last practical tee time, and whether resort facilities your group cares about, such as outdoor pools, operate in your dates.
  • Spring (March–May): the second half of the season. Popular with groups, so request tee times early and confirm whether any tournament or course maintenance is scheduled during your stay.

How many courses are there, and why the numbers differ

You will see different counts. GoTürkiye's Belek page mentions 15 golf courses; its Turkish Riviera golf page speaks of eleven clubs and sixteen courses and says the region hosted more than 500,000 rounds in 2019; Türkiye Today's report states that Antalya has 15 golf courses and 10 golf hotels. Part of the gap probably comes from counting clubs versus courses: one club can operate more than one 18-hole layout or a 27- or 36-hole complex. When you compare packages, ask which specific course or loop you will play, not just the club name.

Choose courses by character, not by ranking

GoTürkiye's Antalya golf club guide lists eleven clubs: Antalya Golf Club, Cullinan Links, National Golf Club, Robinson Nobilis, Montgomerie Maxx Royal, Sueno, Carya, Kaya Palazzo, Gloria, Lykia Links and Cornelia. It gives each a length and par, which is more useful than a 'best of' list when you are matching a course to a group. Use what the guide describes as a starting point:

  • A different style for one round: GoTürkiye presents Lykia Links as a links course by the Mediterranean, while it describes clubs such as Kaya Palazzo and Montgomerie Maxx Royal as set in pine forest.
  • Playing after dark: GoTürkiye describes Carya as offering night golf, and its Riviera page notes some courses have lighting. Confirm that floodlit tee times actually run during your dates.
  • Course length: the guide lists lengths from 4,365 m (Cullinan Links, par 71) to 7,186 m (Carya, par 72). Some listings conflict with the club descriptions, so treat them as indicative and confirm the length of the layout you will actually play.
  • Mixed levels: the guide says Sueno addresses golfers 'from any level' and describes Gloria's courses as 'suitable for all golfers'.

Note that some hole counts on the guide page are inconsistent with the descriptions, so confirm the current layout directly with the club or your tour operator.

Stay-and-play resort or base hotel plus separate tee times?

Broadly, there are two ways to set up the trip. GoTürkiye's golf escape article notes that the region's courses welcome pay-and-play golfers as well as members, so both work. Our decision framework:

  • Stay-and-play at one resort with its own course: fewer transfers, simpler logistics and an easy fit for a short trip or a group where many people are not golfing.
  • Base hotel plus rounds at several clubs: more variety, but each round needs its own tee time and a transfer, so it suits golfers on a longer stay who want to play several different courses.
  • Hybrid: stay at a golf resort and add one or two 'away' rounds. Ask whether your hotel can book external tee times and transfers for you.
  • Arrival and departure days: plan a light first and last day rather than a tee time straight after landing; flight delays happen.

Getting from Antalya Airport to Belek

The official sources we consulted say less about transfers than you might hope. GoTürkiye's Belek page states that the golf courses, the airport and the hotels are in the same region and that Belek is a 20-minute drive from Antalya; its club guide lists one club, Sueno, as 30 minutes from the airport. We could not open the airport transport page of DHMİ, the state airports authority, for this guide, so we do not quote any bus routes. Before you book, confirm:

  • Whether the airport transfer is included in your package, and whether it is private or shared.
  • That the vehicle has room for golf bags; travel bags take more space than ordinary suitcases.
  • Which Antalya Airport terminal your flight uses, and the realistic journey time at your arrival hour.
  • Whether transfers between your hotel and other golf clubs are included or charged separately.

Checklist before you book

  • Handicap rules: none of the official pages we consulted states a handicap certificate requirement. Ask each club whether a certificate or a maximum handicap applies, and pack proof just in case.
  • Tee-time policy: how far ahead you can book, whether hotel guests get priority, and what happens if rain closes a course.
  • Buggies, trolleys and caddies: whether buggies are compulsory or optional, and how they are booked.
  • Club rental: what sets are available (including left-handed), and compare that with your airline's sports-equipment rules.
  • Dress code and practice facilities: ask what is expected on the course and whether range balls are included.
  • Written inclusions: we quote no prices. Get a written summary of green fees, buggies, transfers and cancellation terms for every round.

For the non-golfer in your party

GoTürkiye's golf escape article points to several half-day ideas: Kaleiçi, Antalya's walled old town; the Antalya Archaeology Museum, whose collection includes finds from Side, Aspendos and Perge; the ancient theatre of Aspendos, which hosts an international opera and ballet festival in August and September; and Köprülü Canyon for rafting and jeep safaris. GoTürkiye's club guide also mentions Perge and Aspendos. As an editorial suggestion, the coastal town of Side combines ruins and a harbourfront for a relaxed day; see our Side destination page. Check current opening hours before you go.

If you are still choosing a coast, our Turkish Riviera guide compares Antalya with Bodrum and Fethiye, while Türkiye in winter and our month-by-month timing guide cover the wider calendar. For the city and its surroundings, see the Antalya destination page, and if you would like help combining golf with a private itinerary, see our tourism services.
