Side is a small peninsula where a modern village has grown among the ruins of an ancient harbour city. The columns of the Temple of Apollo stand at the edge of the sea, and a Roman theatre rises above the main street.
It is compact and easy, and one of the best bases for Aspendos, the most complete Roman theatre in Türkiye.
