Şanlıurfa
Home of Göbekli Tepe — where the story of human civilisation is being rewritten.
Şanlıurfa, often just called Urfa, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the region and a place of pilgrimage associated with the Prophet Abraham. Its sacred fish pools, bazaars and stone lanes feel far older than the modern city around them.
Just outside it lies Göbekli Tepe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with monumental carved pillars around 11,000 years old — older than Stonehenge and the pyramids. For many travellers it is the reason to come to Türkiye at all.

Can you visit Göbekli Tepe and Harran in one day?
