Antalya: Scale With Substance
Beyond the resort strip, Antalya's old town (Kaleiçi), Roman theatres and waterfall parks give it more depth than its package-holiday reputation suggests. It is also the coast's most practical base: the biggest airport, year-round flights and the widest hotel range — including some of Türkiye's best family resorts.
Bodrum: The Aegean's Social Capital
Bodrum is Türkiye's answer to the Riviera lifestyle: whitewashed lanes, a crusader castle, boutique hotels tucked into quiet peninsula bays, and beach clubs that fill with Istanbul's stylish crowd in high summer. Choose the town for energy, or the peninsula villages — Türkbükü, Yalıkavak, Gümüşlük — for barefoot-luxury calm.
Fethiye: Nature First
Fethiye and its surroundings hold the coast's most photographed treasures: the Ölüdeniz blue lagoon, Butterfly Valley, the ghost village of Kayaköy and the start of the Lycian Way. It is the launch point for multi-day gulet cruises along hidden coves — the single most memorable way to experience this coastline.
When to Go
May–June and September–October offer warm seas without peak crowds or peak heat — the premium traveller's window. July and August are hottest and busiest everywhere; Antalya's season stretches longest, with sea swimming often comfortable into late October.
